Running

In my opinion running is the best sport of all time. Others should definitely consider joining a harriers running club like me.


 Running is a sport that has lots of great benefits like:
*It keeps you fit and healthy
*Running helps with other sports like football and netball where you need to run around lots
*Gives you good coordination


Running is certainly not boring. I enjoy coming to every race and trying my best to beat more and more people each week. In running there is always more room for improvement and the more you do it the more you will improve. Every week I do training sessions to keep up my fitness and work on my skills. At training I do things like running in rope ladders and jumping over hurdles to work on my technique.


One fun thing about running is all the mud, as most of the races are cross country races. With all of the terrible weather in Wellington the courses can get really muddy. The horrible thing though is that they never cancel the races so sometimes you have to run on a slippery and muddy course is the pouring rain :( On days like that I just look forward to the milo and sausage at the end.


To prevent slipping I wear spikes which are shoes with spikes on the bottom to give grip. In running my parents make me work for things like that which is kinda fun because that makes me work hard all season because I really want the shoes or tracksuit or something.


Also fresh air and exercise helps your brain and is good for you.
