Favourite Artist!

This week I'm writing about my favourite artist. When you hear the word "artist" you think of someone historically famous like Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh but I have chosen a more modern artist. I first read about this artist in a magazine and she is a British 34 year old who lives in New York called Shantell Martin. Shantell is a young artist who draws with black markers on white surfaces. Drawing is her life and job. Her drawing style is doodly, unique and modern. She currently has her own website where she sells her art but she also draws on larger scales such as objects for displays, clothing designs and wall art.

This is a classic example of Shantell's main work and style. By the looks of this picture she is drawing on a huge brick wall possibly out in the streets. I like how it looks like she first drew a large squiggle then made things like faces out of it.

Another example of Shantell's work is this piece of artwork that has "you" written lots of times and all are crossed out except one. This is the kind of artwork with a hidden message in it which I guess means to be yourself. This was part of an art range that Shantell created called "who are you?"

Shantell seems like a very inspirational artist who is using her talent very creatively and is very inspiring.
