Nairnville - Gymnastics

Every Thursday my class walk down to nairnville recreation centre for a fun gymnastics session.

We always start off with a game then do some stretches and get put into three groups. The groups rotate around three circuit's.

One circuit we do with our teacher its a fun and easy lot of activities e.g. balancing beam, a big slide and lots of ladders.

The second circuit is one that we do with the instructors where we practice our balancing skills by doing handstands, flips and routines on the beam.

For the final rotation we do a floor routine which includes rolly pollies, straddles and bouncing.

Finally we end with a game like we started off with. Some of the games are ship shore, rob the nest, snakes and red light green light.

After all of these sessions at nairnville I think that the highlights have been bouncing on the air mat, doing candlesticks on the rings, sliding into the ball pit (sounds babyish I know) and the games at the start and end.

I think that I have improved most on my rolly pollies because at first I couldn't do one but then I kept practising and now I can do one with confidence.

P.S. Sorry about the long post

  1. I've also improved on my rolly pollies but they sometimes go off to the side.

  5. Once I did a candlestick, then I somehow hurt myself on the neck really badly, but I still really enjoy doing it.
