A book that I have read and recently enjoyed is Geek Girl. It is the first out of four in the series.
The story line follows a teenager called Harriet Manners in her life. At first she is just known as the school geek but after she was spotted by a worldwide modelling agency her life is turned around "from geek to chic" and soon she finds herself travelling the world, catwalking and doing photo shoots. She is quite clumsy but keeps on going and tries to better herself.
This book has a strong meaning to just be yourself. I really liked this book and would strongly recommend it to girls aged 11+
