Auckland :)

I spent the first week of the holidays shopping, eating and watching dancing up in Auckland because my sister was competing in the Irish dancing nationals. My mum, sister and I arrived in Auckland and checked in to our hotel room before going to the food truck garage for dinner-the food was delicious!

The next morning was spent shopping before we caught a taxi at midday to go to the dance competition. The place was packed with girls wearing sparkly dresses, curly wigs and fake tan. My sister competed in three dances and did extremely well to place 19th overall! It was kinda boring for me just sitting there watching the other girls dancing so I was relieved when it was all over for the day and we could leave for dinner at a Thai restaurant along with the rest of Gemma's dance school.

The following morning mum and I left early to go for a run and it started pouring with rain and we got soaked when the bus drove past and splashed a big puddle over us! We went to a place called "Little and Friday" for lunch and bought some delicious cakes before going to Gemma's competition for a final group dance. Unfortunately their dance didn't place but it had been a great experience for her.

On our final day we shopped all day and bought heaps of clothes that we could barely fit into our bags, until the afternoon when we left for the airport. It was sad to leave Auckland but it was also good to be getting home.
